As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country
Germany was the main exporter of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds) in the European Union, with the volume of exports recording X tons, which was near 44% of total exports in 2021. Belgium (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons) and France (X tons). All these countries together held near 52% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to organo-inorganic compounds exports from Germany stood at +1.8%. At the same time, France (+61.4%), the Netherlands (+4.5%) and Italy (+4.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, France emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +61.4% from 2012-2021. Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest organo-inorganic compounds supplier in the European Union, comprising 50% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 14% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany amounted to +2.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+5.3% per year) and Belgium (+1.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately equating the previous year. In general, the export price saw a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in the EU
In 2021, the amount of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds) imported in the European Union rose notably to X tons, growing by 7.3% compared with the year before. Total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +79.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, organo-inorganic compounds imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a notable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +88.1% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Belgium (X tons) represented the main importer of organo-inorganic compounds (excluding organo-sulphur compounds), making up 31% of total imports. Germany (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by the Netherlands (X tons), France (X tons), Italy (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Poland (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 57% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +13.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 53% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, France, Spain and Poland, which together accounted for a further 28%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +21.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+7.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
