In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest boron oxide and boric acid supplier in the European Union, comprising 52% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Latvia, with a 9.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Netherlands totaled +39.8%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+11.7% per year) and Latvia (+66.7% per year).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 33%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
