The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyacetals exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 508%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

The shipments of the three major exporters of polyacetals in primary forms, namely Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, represented more than two-thirds of total export.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +33.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 92% share of total exports.

The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +28.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, surging by 12% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a slight slump. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.6%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, polyacetals imports in the European Union surged to X tons, picking up by 28% on 2020. Total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +94.3% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyacetals imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.7% against 2018 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Austria (X tons) were the major importers of polyacetals in primary forms, together constituting 81% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +27.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belgium ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 50% of total imports. France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Austria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.

Among the main importing countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +18.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
