There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, polyamide imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), France (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the largest importers of polyamides (in primary forms), together creating 72% of total imports. The following importers - the Czech Republic (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Austria (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Romania (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - together made up 20% of total imports.
Imports into Germany increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Romania (+10.8%), Sweden (+9.1%), Poland (+6.6%), Spain (+5.4%), the Netherlands (+4.2%), Italy (+4.0%), Hungary (+3.5%), France (+2.3%), Austria (+2.2%), Slovakia (+2.0%) and Belgium (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +10.8% from 2012-2021. The Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The Czech Republic (-1.7 p.p.) and Belgium (-2.1 p.p.) significantly weakened its position in terms of the total imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported polyamides (in primary forms) in the European Union, comprising 28% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with an 11% share.
In Germany, polyamide imports expanded at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (+3.4% per year) and Belgium (+1.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 20% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Romania ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Italy ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
