Moreover, Finland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +17.6% from 2012-2022. Austria, Spain and the Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-1.4%) and Belgium (-9.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Czech Republic, Finland, Italy and Slovakia increased by +3.1, +2.2, +1.9 and +1.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) emerged as the largest polypropylene in primary forms supplier in the European Union, comprising 22% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 10% share.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, polypropylene in primary forms imports reduced to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade.
