For the third year in a row, the EU radar apparatus market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 11% to $X in 2022. In general, consumption, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. Over the period under review, the market reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, radar apparatus production rose slightly to $X in 2022 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Exports in the EU
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus, when their volume decreased by -7.3% to X units. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, radar apparatus exports fell to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +2.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 28% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Hungary (X units) and Germany (X units) were the largest exporters of radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus in the European Union, together accounting for near 40% of total exports. Poland (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by France (7.4%), the Netherlands (6.5%), Italy (5.6%) and Spain (5.2%). Sweden (X units), Austria (X units), Portugal (X units), Belgium (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Denmark (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +42.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest radar apparatus supplier in the European Union, comprising 29% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Hungary ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Hungary (+34.3% per year) and France (+1.7% per year).

In 2022, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, declining by -4.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 19%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, radar apparatus imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X units), Italy (X units), France (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Spain (X units), Hungary (X units), Poland (X units), Belgium (X units), Austria (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Slovakia (X units) and Sweden (X units) represented roughly 88% of total imports in 2022.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +18.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus in the European Union, comprising 26% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 9.6% share.
In Germany, radar apparatus imports shrank by an average annual rate of -4.1% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (+0.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+2.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Austria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
