Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 9.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per ton), while Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+14.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
In 2021, supplies from abroad of railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings decreased by -5.5% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 49% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2020, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, railway track fixture imports rose rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 19%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Croatia (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented roughly 27% of total imports in 2021. Portugal (X tons) held a 7.9% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Austria (7.4%), Italy (7.3%), France (6.9%), Romania (5.8%) and Spain (4.8%). Sweden (X tons), Luxembourg (X tons), Ireland (X tons), Estonia (X tons) and Slovenia (X tons) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of +31.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest railway track fixture importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 34% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Sweden, Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Croatia, Slovenia and Estonia, which together accounted for a further 36%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Slovenia, with a CAGR of +21.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
