The total consumption indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, static converter production contracted to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, showed a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the production volume increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production reached the maximum level at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, the amount of static converters exported in the European Union skyrocketed to X units, jumping by 21% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 63%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, static converter exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +103.2% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2021, the Netherlands (X units), distantly followed by Germany (X units), Italy (X units), Spain (X units) and Poland (X units) represented the major exporters of static converters, together committing 72% of total exports. Hungary (X units), Austria (X units), France (X units), Finland (X units), Denmark (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Sweden (X units) and Belgium (X units) held a minor share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +59.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest static converter supplier in the European Union, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 6.7% share.
In Germany, static converter exports increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+10.6% per year) and Italy (+5.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 2.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 5.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+3.5%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

In 2021, overseas purchases of static converters increased by 27% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports showed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 143%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, static converter imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a remarkable increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands represented the main importer of static converters in the European Union, with the volume of imports amounting to X units, which was near 37% of total imports in 2021. Germany (X units) took the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Italy (X units), Hungary (X units), France (X units) and Poland (X units). All these countries together took near 39% share of total imports. Spain (X units), Belgium (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Sweden (X units), Austria (X units) and Denmark (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the static converters imports, with a CAGR of +57.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Denmark (+33.1%), Poland (+31.7%), Sweden (+28.2%), Italy (+24.6%), France (+24.4%), Belgium (+20.1%), the Czech Republic (+20.0%), Hungary (+14.6%), Austria (+7.5%), Germany (+6.1%) and Spain (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. The Netherlands (+35 p.p.), Poland (+3.7 p.p.), Italy (+2.8 p.p.) and France (+2.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Austria, Spain and Germany saw its share reduced by -2%, -7% and -20.4% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest static converter importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X), together comprising 52% of total imports. These countries were followed by Italy, Poland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Hungary, Austria, Sweden and Denmark, which together accounted for a further 39%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +14.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 4.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 28%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
