In value terms, refined groundnut oil exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a noticeable decline. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by Italy (X tons), France (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented the main exporters of refined groundnut oil, together constituting 98% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Italy (with a CAGR of +19.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 78% share of total exports.

Refined groundnut oil imports rose sharply to X tons in 2021, with an increase of 14% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 17%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, refined groundnut oil imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons) was the largest importer of refined groundnut oil in the European Union, creating 69% of total import. It was distantly followed by Austria (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Belgium (X tons), together generating a 23% share of total imports. Luxembourg (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of +10.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 20%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
