The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Germany (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main exporters of retreaded pneumatic tyres in the European Union, together accounting for approx. 47% of total exports. The Netherlands (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 9.8% share, followed by France (7.9%), Romania (6.6%), Belgium (6.3%), Poland (5.7%) and Italy (5.7%). There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 20%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. From 2019 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
