The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 26%. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, safety headgear exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +99.8% against 2015 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X units), France (X units), Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Poland (X units), Spain (X units) and Belgium (X units) represented roughly 83% of total exports in 2021. Portugal (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +17.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest safety headgear supplying countries in the European Union were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 53% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Belgium and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 32%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +25.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 4.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 13%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+14.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
In 2021, safety headgear imports in the European Union soared to X units, growing by 17% against the year before. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -10.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, safety headgear imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a prominent expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Germany (X units) and France (X units) were the largest importers of safety headgear in 2021, amounting to near 20% and 17% of total imports, respectively. Spain (X units) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Poland (X units) and Belgium (X units). All these countries together held near 41% share of total imports. Sweden (X units), Austria (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Denmark (X units), Finland (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +16.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest safety headgear importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), together comprising 50% of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 44%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +19.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 11% against the previous year. Import price indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, safety headgear import price increased by +71.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 42% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while Bulgaria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
