In 2021, Germany (X tons) was the major exporter of sanitary ware and parts of copper, committing 37% of total exports. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest copper sanitary ware supplier in the European Union, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 5.6% share.

In Germany, copper sanitary ware exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (-3.2% per year) and Belgium (+25.0% per year).

As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, copper sanitary ware imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +67.3% against 2015 indices.
