In 2021, Finland (X units), distantly followed by Italy (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Germany (X units), Austria (X units), France (X units) and Poland (X units) represented the largest exporters of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators, together comprising 78% of total exports. The following exporters - Belgium (X units), Denmark (X units), Ireland (X units), Sweden (X units) and Spain (X units) - together made up 13% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of +19.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Finland ($X) and Austria ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 51% share of total exports. Sweden, with a CAGR of +11.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per unit), while Finland ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+16.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU

For the fifth consecutive year, the European Union recorded growth in purchases abroad of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators, which increased by 32% to X units in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a strong expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, self-propelled bulldozer imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, rising by 1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the import price increased by 10% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
