Portugal (+15 p.p.) and France (+14 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -2.3%, -2.7%, -7.2% and -7.3% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, France ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sisal binder or baler (agricultural) twines in the European Union, comprising 37% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Portugal ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 12% share.
