In 2022, Germany (X units) represented the main exporter of ski-suits of knitted or crocheted textiles, committing 38% of total exports. Italy (X units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by France (X units), Poland (X units), Portugal (X units) and the Netherlands (X units). All these countries together held near 47% share of total exports. Belgium (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Poland (+12.9%), Italy (+11.3%), France (+9.7%) and the Netherlands (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Germany (+13 p.p.), Italy (+9.6 p.p.), Poland (+5.5 p.p.), France (+4.6 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Portugal and Belgium saw its share reduced by -3.1% and -5.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively.

In value terms, the largest knitted ski-suit supplying countries in the European Union were the Netherlands ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 56% share of total exports.

In terms of the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +27.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 60% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Italy (X units), Austria (X units) and Germany (X units) represented the major importer of ski-suits of knitted or crocheted textiles in the European Union, committing 53% of total import. The Netherlands (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 8.2% share, followed by Denmark (7.9%), France (6.4%), Poland (5.6%) and Romania (5.1%).
