In 2021, Germany (X tons) represented the largest importer of glass fibre filaments, rovings, chopped strands, and staple glass fibre articles, comprising 31% of total imports. Italy (X tons) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belgium (12%), the Netherlands (10%), France (7.4%), Spain (6.2%) and Poland (5.4%).

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass fibre filaments, rovings, chopped strands, and staple glass fibre articles in the European Union, comprising 30% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in Germany was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (+4.4% per year) and Belgium (+4.1% per year).
