The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +32.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 38%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Germany was the largest exporter of sulphides, polysulphides, dithionites and sulphoxylates in the European Union, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 47% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), France (X tons) and Austria (X tons), together creating a 45% share of total exports. The following exporters - Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) - together made up 6.7% of total exports.

Sweden, with a CAGR of +19.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
