In value terms, telephonic switching apparatus exports stood at $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The Netherlands represented the largest exporter of telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus in the European Union, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 37% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Germany (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Poland (X units), Hungary (X units) and Sweden (X units), together generating a 40% share of total exports. The following exporters - France (X units), Spain (X units), Ireland (X units), Estonia (X units), Belgium (X units) and Latvia (X units) - together made up 16% of total exports.
Exports from the Netherlands increased at an average annual rate of +6.9% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Latvia (+23.7%), Ireland (+23.4%), Spain (+19.9%), the Czech Republic (+15.8%), Poland (+13.1%), Belgium (+12.7%), Germany (+3.2%), Hungary (+1.8%) and Sweden (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Latvia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +23.7% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Estonia (-1.8%) and France (-5.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Czech Republic (+6.3 p.p.), the Netherlands (+3.8 p.p.), Poland (+3 p.p.), Spain (+2.1 p.p.) and Ireland (+2 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of Sweden (-2.6 p.p.), Estonia (-2.8 p.p.), Hungary (-2.9 p.p.), Germany (-3.2 p.p.) and France (-8.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest telephonic switching apparatus supplier in the European Union, comprising 41% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by the Czech Republic, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Netherlands totaled +9.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+5.1% per year) and the Czech Republic (+17.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 8.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 19%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In 2022, after six years of growth, there was decline in overseas purchases of telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus, when their volume decreased by -4.1% to X units. In general, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2021, and then dropped modestly in the following year.
In value terms, telephonic switching apparatus imports rose markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the Netherlands (X units), distantly followed by Germany (X units), France (X units), Spain (X units), Italy (X units), Sweden (X units) and Poland (X units) were the largest importers of telephonic or telegraphic switching apparatus, together constituting 79% of total imports. The Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units) and Hungary (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into the Netherlands increased at an average annual rate of +9.6% from 2012 to 2022. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Spain, the Netherlands and Hungary increased by +5.1, +3 and +2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest telephonic switching apparatus importing markets in the European Union were the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 58% share of total imports. The Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden, Poland, Spain, Hungary and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
Among the main importing countries, Hungary, with a CAGR of +23.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
