The total production indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by -0.6% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2021, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in the EU
In 2021, shipments abroad of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn increased by 27% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 37%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, turbo-jet (over X kn) exports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -14.7% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 59%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, France (X units) was the largest exporter of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn, making up 40% of total exports. The Netherlands (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Germany (X units) and Ireland (X units). All these countries together took near 41% share of total exports. The following exporters - Poland (X units), Spain (X units) and Belgium (X units) - together made up 11% of total exports.
France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn. At the same time, Poland (+20.9%), the Netherlands (+15.8%) and Belgium (+7.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +20.9% from 2012-2021. Ireland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-13.2%) and Spain (-16.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+14 p.p.), France (+8.1 p.p.), Poland (+3.7 p.p.), Ireland (+2.6 p.p.) and Belgium (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Spain (-11.4 p.p.) and Germany (-23.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, France ($X) remains the largest turbo-jet (over X kn) supplier in the European Union, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Ireland, with an 8.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in France amounted to +3.4%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-5.9% per year) and Ireland (+12.3% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -14.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 19% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2020, and then declined in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+25.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
In 2021, purchases abroad of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn decreased by -89.2% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 620% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, turbo-jet (over X kn) imports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 105%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
France (X units) and Germany (X units) represented the major importers of turbo-jets of a thrust exceeding X kn in 2021, accounting for near 24% and 22% of total imports, respectively. The Netherlands (X units) held a 12% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Ireland (7.2%), Italy (6.5%), Luxembourg (4.7%) and Belgium (4.7%). Spain (X units) took a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Luxembourg (with a CAGR of +58.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest turbo-jet (over X kn) importing markets in the European Union were Germany ($X), France ($X) and Ireland ($X), together accounting for 70% of total imports. The Netherlands, Spain, Luxembourg, Italy and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.
Luxembourg, with a CAGR of +59.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in the European Union stood at $X per unit in 2021, growing by 958% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed buoyant growth. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ireland (+11.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
