In 2021, Germany (X units), distantly followed by France (X units), Spain (X units), Italy (X units), Belgium (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Poland (X units) were the largest importers of wheelchairs, together generating 83% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wheelchair imports into Germany stood at +2.1%. At the same time, Poland (+13.1%), Spain (+10.3%), Belgium (+7.7%), Italy (+3.7%) and France (+3.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. In 2021, the import price in the European Union amounted to $X per unit, rising by 7.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 8%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
