In 2022, the Czech Republic (X tons) represented the major exporter of glass fibre fabrics, creating 34% of total exports. Germany (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 11% share, followed by Belgium (10%), Latvia (8.8%), Hungary (6.8%) and Italy (4.7%). Exports from the Czech Republic increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Croatia (+13.9%), Poland (+10.1%), Hungary (+4.8%), Latvia (+3.9%), Slovakia (+3.8%) and the Netherlands (+3.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Croatia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the European Union, with a CAGR of +13.9% from 2012-2022. Spain, Germany, Italy and Belgium experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-1.2%) and Austria (-2.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the Czech Republic increased by +9.2 percentage points. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest glass fibre fabrics supplying countries in the European Union were the Czech Republic ($X), Germany ($X) and Belgium ($X), with a combined 52% share of total exports. France, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Croatia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.
Croatia, with a CAGR of +15.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Slovakia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+5.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU
In 2022, the amount of glass fibre fabrics imported in the European Union fell to X tons, which is down by -10.3% on the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, glass fibre fabrics imports fell to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 29%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons), distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Poland (X tons), Spain (X tons), France (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main importers of glass fibre fabrics, together making up 71% of total imports. The Netherlands (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Belgium (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Portugal (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported glass fibre fabrics in the European Union, comprising 25% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 10% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 10% share.
In Germany, glass fibre fabrics imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (-0.7% per year) and Italy (+2.2% per year).
