Exports by Country
The biggest shipments were from Germany (X tons), France (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Spain (X tons), together reaching 79% of total export. Belgium (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 5.8% share, followed by Italy (4.8%). The following exporters - Sweden (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) - each reached a 3.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +16.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest x-ray generator supplier in the European Union, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Germany was relatively modest. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (-3.1% per year) and the Netherlands (-1.3% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, waning by -3.7% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 14% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced modestly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in the EU
In 2021, approx. X tons of x-ray generators were imported in the European Union; with an increase of 2.8% on the previous year. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 18%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, remaining constant against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 8.1% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2018 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
