Alums Market Size in Europe

The Europe alums market amounted to $X in 2022, growing by 13% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Spain (X tons) held a 17% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by France (5.3%). Spain, with a CAGR of +19.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -26.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the Czech Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 4.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 21%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
