In value terms, aniline exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The UK (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) represented roughly 71% of total exports in 2021. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by Portugal (10%) and the Netherlands (5.6%).
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +509.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the UK ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 81% share of total exports. Portugal and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a mild slump. Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Portugal ($X per ton), while the UK ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Portugal (-0.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe
In 2021, purchases abroad of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives) decreased by -3.2% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a five-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 5.1% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell slightly in the following year.
In value terms, aniline imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight descent. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
The Netherlands (X tons), Germany (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and Spain (X tons) represented roughly 86% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belgium (X tons), comprising an 8.8% share of total imports. The following importers - Slovakia (X tons) and Russia (X tons) - each amounted to a 4.7% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Belgium, with a CAGR of +15.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, surging by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable decrease. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
