From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +5.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest ball bearing supplier in Europe, comprising 32% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 12% share.
In Germany, ball bearing exports increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+0.2% per year) and France (-1.9% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 5.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 8.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Hungary ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+4.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of ball bearings. At the same time, Sweden (+8.9%), Belgium (+6.4%), Russia (+5.7%), the Netherlands (+5.4%), Poland (+3.4%), Spain (+2.2%), Denmark (+1.6%) and Italy (+1.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sweden emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +8.9% from 2012-2021. France, Austria and the Czech Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-2.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+2.5 p.p.), Belgium (+2.3 p.p.), Sweden (+1.7 p.p.) and Russia (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Germany saw its share reduced by -3.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 7.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
