Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The biggest shipments were from Belarus (X units), Portugal (X units), Poland (X units) and Germany (X units), together recording 56% of total export. The Netherlands (X units) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a 6% share, followed by Spain (5%) and Italy (4.9%). The following exporters - Russia (X units), Belgium (X units), Slovenia (X units), Romania (X units), Hungary (X units) and France (X units) - together made up 15% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +48.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Portugal ($X) remains the largest bedspread supplier in Europe, comprising 26% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Poland ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 9.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Portugal was relatively modest. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+11.9% per year) and Germany (-0.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the export price increased by 32% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+15.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
Bedspread imports expanded markedly to X units in 2021, growing by 12% compared with 2020. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 20%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Spain (X units), the UK (X units), France (X units), Germany (X units), Russia (X units), Greece (X units), Italy (X units), Poland (X units), Ukraine (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Belarus (X units) and Romania (X units) represented the key importer of bedspreads (excluding eiderdowns) in Europe, making up 77% of total import. Sweden (X units) took a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belarus (with a CAGR of +28.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 32% of total imports. These countries were followed by Spain, Russia, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, Greece and Belarus, which together accounted for a further 43%.
Belarus, with a CAGR of +22.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 21%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
