In 2022, France (X units), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X units), Italy (X units), Germany (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main exporters of blow-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics, together mixing up 78% of total exports. The UK (X units), Sweden (X units), Denmark (X units), Belgium (X units), Switzerland (X units) and Poland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 92%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Sweden ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+15.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, purchases abroad of blow-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics decreased by -2.2% to X units, falling for the fourth consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 65%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, blow-moulding machine imports rose to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 33%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The UK represented the main importer of blow-moulding machines for working rubber or plastics in Europe, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was near 32% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Spain (X units), Norway (X units), France (X units) and Italy (X units), together comprising a 29% share of total imports. The following importers - Portugal (X units), Russia (X units), Hungary (X units), Sweden (X units), Ireland (X units), Poland (X units), Germany (X units) and Luxembourg (X units) - together made up 21% of total imports.
Imports into the UK increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+40.4%), Luxembourg (+34.5%), Sweden (+25.4%), Spain (+16.1%), Italy (+9.1%) and Portugal (+7.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +40.4% from 2012-2022. Ireland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Norway (-2.9%), Germany (-5.4%), Poland (-7.7%), Russia (-9.7%) and France (-10.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of the UK, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Sweden, Ireland, Portugal and Luxembourg increased by +11, +8.5, +2.9, +2.9, +2.6, +2.3, +2.2 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 36% share of total imports. The UK, Poland, France, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Ireland, Sweden, Norway and Luxembourg lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Luxembourg, with a CAGR of +24.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 6.6% against the previous year. Import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, blow-moulding machine import price decreased by -4.6% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 87%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
