The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 64%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, dicalcium phosphate exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +44.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 30%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The shipments of the four major exporters of calcium hydrogenorthophosphate (dicalcium phosphate), namely Spain, France, Germany and Belgium, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Slovenia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Italy (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of +19.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest dicalcium phosphate supplier in Europe, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Spain ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 14% share.

In Germany, dicalcium phosphate exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (+7.0% per year) and France (+2.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 19% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

For the sixth year in a row, Europe recorded decline in overseas purchases of calcium hydrogenorthophosphate (dicalcium phosphate), which decreased by -10% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports recorded a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 0.9% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dicalcium phosphate imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a pronounced slump. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the UK (X tons), Italy (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Spain (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Poland (X tons), France (X tons) and Germany (X tons) was the main importer of calcium hydrogenorthophosphate (dicalcium phosphate) in Europe, comprising 86% of total import.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +3.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

In value terms, the largest dicalcium phosphate importing markets in Europe were the UK ($X), Italy ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 39% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 34% against the previous year. Import price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, dicalcium phosphate import price increased by +64.3% against 2016 indices. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+8.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
