Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +32.1% from 2012-2022. Switzerland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Spain (-1.8%), Germany (-4.1%) and the Czech Republic (-6.9%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. France (+4.1 p.p.), the Netherlands (+3.7 p.p.) and Belarus (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while the Czech Republic and Germany saw its share reduced by -7.7% and -8.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the largest chain scoops and sliders supplier in Europe, comprising 43% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Switzerland, with a 10% share.

In Italy, chain scoops and sliders exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (-4.9% per year) and Switzerland (+1.2% per year).

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +4.9% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 17%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +25.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 12%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+2.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
