In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest check valve supplier in Europe, comprising 32% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 9.6% share.
In Germany, check valve exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Italy (+2.8% per year) and the UK (-4.4% per year).

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -26.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a abrupt shrinkage. In 2021, overseas purchases of check valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks and vats increased by 66% to X units, rising for the fifth consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports showed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 68% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
In value terms, check valve imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of check valve imports in 2021 were France (X units), Russia (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Spain (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units), together recording 62% of total import. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), mixing up a 5.3% share of total imports. The following importers - the UK (X units), Ireland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Belgium (X units), Austria (X units) and Hungary (X units) - together made up 19% of total imports.

In value terms, Germany ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together comprising 36% of total imports. Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 46%.
Ireland, with a CAGR of +12.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -30.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 7.6% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
