Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 29%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

The UK (+12 p.p.) and Spain (+8.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Belgium, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands saw its share reduced by -2.3%, -3.5%, -3.9% and -7.3% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest chlorides and phosphorus oxychloride and halides importing markets in Europe were the UK ($X), Belgium ($X) and Spain ($X), with a combined 51% share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Spain, with a CAGR of +21.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%.
