Concrete Pump Market Size in Europe

The Europe concrete pump market reduced to $X in 2021, dropping by -2.3% against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted slightly in the following year.

Concrete Pump Production in Europe

In value terms, concrete pump production amounted to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, production, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 12%. The level of production peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Europe

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was growth in overseas shipments of concrete pumps, when their volume increased by 3.7% to X units. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 30%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete pump exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a mild curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Italy was the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which reached 44% of total exports. It was distantly followed by the UK (X units), Germany (X units) and the Netherlands (X units), together achieving a 34% share of total exports. Poland (X units), Belarus (X units), France (X units), Belgium (X units) and Sweden (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concrete pump exports from Italy stood at -3.8%. At the same time, Poland (+26.3%), Belarus (+18.2%), France (+6.4%) and Belgium (+4.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +26.3% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the UK (-9.5%), the Netherlands (-9.7%), Germany (-10.8%) and Sweden (-12.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Italy (+6.6 p.p.), Poland (+4 p.p.), Belarus (+2.6 p.p.) and France (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK saw its share reduced by -1.8%, -2.8%, -4.4% and -10.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest concrete pump supplier in Europe, comprising 52% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 24% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 2.9% share.

In Germany, concrete pump exports expanded at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (-3.5% per year) and the UK (+4.9% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 26% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the UK ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+16.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Concrete Pump Imports

Imports in Europe

In 2021, approx. X units of concrete pumps were imported in Europe; increasing by 12% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports recorded modest growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete pump imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +138.6% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2021, the UK (X units) was the key importer of concrete pumps, creating 25% of total imports. France (X units) took an 8.1% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belgium (7.9%), Italy (7.6%), the Netherlands (6%), Slovakia (5.7%) and Belarus (4.6%). The following importers - Russia (X units), Romania (X units), Poland (X units), Sweden (X units), Spain (X units) and Germany (X units) - together made up 19% of total imports.

Imports into the UK decreased at an average annual rate of -3.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Slovakia (+29.5%), Italy (+23.8%), Poland (+15.6%), Germany (+10.2%), Romania (+9.5%), Sweden (+8.5%), Belgium (+8.0%), Spain (+4.5%) and Belarus (+4.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Slovakia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +29.5% from 2012-2021. The Netherlands experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-2.5%) and Russia (-8.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Italy (+6.3 p.p.), Slovakia (+5.1 p.p.), Belgium (+3.5 p.p.), Poland (+2.2 p.p.), Romania (+2 p.p.) and Germany (+1.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while France, Russia and the UK saw its share reduced by -3.1%, -6.1% and -12% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Russia ($X) and France ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 46% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Romania, Belarus, Poland, Sweden, Italy and Slovakia, which together accounted for a further 33%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +24.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 5% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the import price increased by 167% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while Slovakia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
