Germany (X tons) held a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Belgium (X%), Spain (X%), the UK (X%), Russia (X%) and France (X%). The following exporters - Italy (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) - each accounted for a X% share of total exports.

Exports from the Netherlands decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Italy (X%), Spain (X%), Hungary (X%), Russia (X%) and France (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Italy emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Belgium (X%), Germany (X%) and the UK (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Spain (X p.p.), Belgium (X p.p.), Russia (X p.p.) and France (X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2022, the share of the UK (X p.p.) and the Netherlands (X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest cyclic hydrocarbons supplier in Europe, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Belgium, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in the Netherlands stood at X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Belgium (X% per year).

In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of cyclic hydrocarbons decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports saw a slight setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons imports declined to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Belgium (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) represented roughly X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Germany (X tons), France (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons), together generating a X% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Portugal (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.
