Degras Market Size in Europe

In 2021, the Europe degras market increased by 63% to $X, rising for the third year in a row after two years of decline. The total consumption indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +116.3% against 2018 indices. As a result, consumption attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Degras Production in Europe

In value terms, degras production soared to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +102.1% against 2017 indices. As a result, production attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Degras Exports

Exports in Europe

In 2021, approx. X tons of degras were exported in Europe; dropping by -18.9% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when exports increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, degras exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 58%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

France (X tons) and Italy (X tons) represented roughly 37% of total exports in 2021. Germany (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by the Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Norway (X tons), Russia (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Romania (X tons). All these countries together held near 54% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +34.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest degras supplying countries in Europe were Italy ($X), Belgium ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 53% share of total exports. Romania, Germany, France, Spain, Norway and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 40%.

Among the main exporting countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +53.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 40% against the previous year. Export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, degras export price increased by +45.5% against 2019 indices. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per ton), while Norway ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Romania (+14.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Degras Imports

Imports in Europe

Degras imports soared to X tons in 2021, rising by 27% on the previous year. In general, imports posted resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 62% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, degras imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

Spain (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and France (X tons) represented roughly 67% of total imports in 2021. The Netherlands (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Italy (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 21% share of total imports. Belgium (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +79.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest degras importing markets in Europe were France ($X), Spain ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising 75% of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, France, with a CAGR of +91.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 48% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw strong growth. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Denmark ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
