Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, diamond imports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Germany (X tons) was the main importer of diamonds and other precious stones (unworked), constituting X% of total imports. The Czech Republic (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons), France (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons). All these countries together held near X% share of total imports.
Imports into Germany decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Poland (X%), the Czech Republic (X%), the Netherlands (X%), Spain (X%) and France (X%) displayed positive paces of growth.
