Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a noticeable contraction. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, disperse dye exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the three major exporters of disperse dyes and preparations based thereon, namely Germany, Italy and Switzerland, represented more than half of total export. Spain (X tons) took an 8.6% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the UK (7.9%) and the Netherlands (5.5%). Austria (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Sweden (X tons), Luxembourg (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) took a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Luxembourg (with a CAGR of +40.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest disperse dye supplier in Europe, comprising 41% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Switzerland ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 10% share.
In Germany, disperse dye exports increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Switzerland (+0.3% per year) and the UK (+6.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, waning by -5.3% against the previous year. Export price indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, disperse dye export price decreased by -9.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 20%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, disperse dye imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -3.9% against 2019 indices. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Italy (X tons), the UK (X tons), Switzerland (X tons) and Austria (X tons) represented roughly 69% of total imports in 2021. Belgium (X tons), Russia (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Portugal (X tons), France (X tons) and Finland (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +17.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest disperse dye importing markets in Europe were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and the UK ($X), together comprising 52% of total imports. Switzerland, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, Russia, France, Finland and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.
The Netherlands, with a CAGR of +15.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, remaining stable against the previous year. Import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, disperse dye import price decreased by -6.3% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 13%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
