Estonia, with a CAGR of +73.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per square meter, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 22% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per square meter. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per square meter), while Russia ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of drawn glass and blown glass were finally on the rise to reach X square meters after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep reduction. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X square meters in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ukraine (X square meters) ranks second in terms of the total imports with an 8.7% share, followed by Germany (7%), Belgium (6.3%), Slovakia (6%), Poland (5.9%), the Netherlands (5.9%) and the UK (5.4%). Portugal (X square meters), Latvia (X square meters), Spain (X square meters), Bulgaria (X square meters) and Serbia (X square meters) took a little share of total imports.
Estonia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the drawn glass and blown glass imports, with a CAGR of +52.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belgium (+27.8%), Serbia (+24.8%), Latvia (+12.3%) and Ukraine (+6.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Netherlands (-1.2%), Bulgaria (-1.5%), Portugal (-2.3%), Slovakia (-2.5%), Spain (-7.6%), Poland (-9.2%) and the UK (-14.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported drawn glass and blown glass in Europe, comprising 20% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Estonia ($X), with a 9% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with an 8.7% share.
In Germany, drawn glass and blown glass imports increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Estonia (+51.7% per year) and the UK (-3.6% per year).
