From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of +30.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Denmark ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 55% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Poland, Sweden, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Finland, Russia and Austria, which together accounted for a further 35%.

Among the main exporting countries, Austria, with a CAGR of +24.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 6.9% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by 26% against the previous year. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Norway increased at an average annual rate of +22.9% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Sweden (+48.5%), Lithuania (+38.5%), North Macedonia (+38.3%), Hungary (+23.0%), Poland (+19.2%), Romania (+14.2%), Belgium (+14.0%), Germany (+9.6%) and France (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sweden emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +48.5% from 2012-2021. Russia and Ukraine experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-1.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Norway (+22 p.p.), Lithuania (+6.6 p.p.), Sweden (+3.3 p.p.), Poland (+3.2 p.p.), North Macedonia (+1.9 p.p.) and Hungary (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while France, the UK, Russia and Ukraine saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -3.1%, -9.5% and -9.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest agricultural product dryer importing markets in Europe were Ukraine ($X), Russia ($X) and Poland ($X), with a combined 47% share of total imports. Romania, Hungary, Germany, Lithuania, France, Belgium, Norway, the UK, Sweden and North Macedonia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.

In terms of the main importing countries, North Macedonia, with a CAGR of +36.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 5.5%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2021, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per unit), while Norway ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
