The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the ten major exporters of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, namely France, Belgium, Portugal, the UK, the Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Spain and Italy, represented more than two-thirds of total export. Slovakia (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Belgium, Poland, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Portugal and Ireland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +41.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, rising by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 31% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Portugal ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+12.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, when their volume decreased by -7.7% to X tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 31%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, machinery electrical parts imports dropped to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +8.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In 2022, Belgium (X tons), distantly followed by Spain (X tons), Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Portugal (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) represented the main importers of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus, together constituting 79% of total imports. The following importers - Italy (X tons), France (X tons), Hungary (X tons), Slovakia (X tons) and the UK (X tons) - together made up 15% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +26.4%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported electrical parts of machinery or apparatus in Europe, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Hungary, with an 8.4% share.
In Germany, machinery electrical parts imports increased at an average annual rate of +10.5% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+7.8% per year) and Hungary (+22.5% per year).
