The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 15%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

Germany was the largest exporting country with an export of around X tons, which accounted for 29% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), Italy (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons), France (X tons) and Romania (X tons), together achieving a 46% share of total exports. The following exporters - Austria (X tons), Spain (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Switzerland (X tons) - together made up 18% of total exports.
Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, the Netherlands (+5.3%), Poland (+5.1%), Slovakia (+5.1%), Romania (+4.7%), Italy (+4.6%), Russia (+4.6%), the Czech Republic (+4.2%), Spain (+3.6%) and Austria (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +5.3% from 2012-2022. The UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Switzerland (-1.1%) and France (-1.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Poland (+2.4 p.p.), Germany (+2.1 p.p.) and Italy (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while France saw its share reduced by -4.2% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest electromagnetic lifting head supplier in Europe, comprising 39% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with an 8.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Italy, with a 7.8% share.
In Germany, electromagnetic lifting head exports increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (-0.9% per year) and Italy (+4.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of electromagnets and electromagnetic lifting heads increased by 0.4% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, electromagnetic lifting head imports declined to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. Imports into Germany increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Romania (+13.1%), Belgium (+7.5%), Poland (+7.5%), Russia (+4.5%), Italy (+4.1%), the Czech Republic (+3.0%), France (+2.8%) and Austria (+2.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Romania emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +13.1% from 2012-2022. Hungary experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the Netherlands (-1.4%) and the UK (-4.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Germany (+12 p.p.), Romania (+3.7 p.p.) and Poland (+1.8 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Hungary and the UK saw its share reduced by -3.2% and -5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest electromagnetic lifting head importing markets in Europe were Germany ($X), France ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X), with a combined 51% share of total imports.
France, with a CAGR of +14.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, declining by -8.2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+11.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
