Croatia (X tons) took the next position in the ranking, followed by Serbia (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 11% share of total exports. The following exporters - the Czech Republic (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) - each amounted to a 5.4% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +73.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and the UK ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 60% of total exports. Ireland, Serbia, Croatia, Denmark and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 24%.
Among the main exporting countries, Serbia, with a CAGR of +68.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.3%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per ton), while Ireland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+4.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2021, supplies from abroad of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys was finally on the rise to reach X tons after six years of decline. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Italy (X tons), France (X tons), the UK (X tons), Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Norway (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Austria (X tons), Greece (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Switzerland (X tons) was the largest importer of ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys in Europe, committing 79% of total import. Romania (X tons) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +18.6%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ferro-cerium and pyrophoric alloys importing markets in Europe were Italy ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X), together comprising 40% of total imports. These countries were followed by the UK, Norway, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Greece, Denmark and Romania, which together accounted for a further 40%.
Romania, with a CAGR of +13.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the import price increased by 10% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while Greece ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
