The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 14%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, baby food exports reduced to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands (X tons) and France (X tons) represented roughly 43% of total exports in 2021. Ireland (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Germany (X tons), Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Switzerland (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 39% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the largest baby food supplier in Europe, comprising 34% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Ireland, with a 12% share.
In the Netherlands, baby food exports increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (+3.8% per year) and Ireland (-1.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 4.4% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 12%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, imports of food preparations for infants in Europe fell to X tons, declining by -8.3% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 15% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country
In 2021, the UK (X tons), distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons), Poland (X tons), France (X tons), Russia (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Spain (X tons) represented the largest importers of food preparations for infants, together mixing up 76% of total imports. Sweden (X tons), Greece (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Austria (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +15.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the UK ($X), France ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 35% of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, Russia, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 46%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Poland, with a CAGR of +13.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the import price increased by 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Austria ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
