All these countries together took near 39% share of total exports. Russia (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.
Exports from Germany increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Russia (+18.2%), France (+5.9%), Belgium (+3.0%) and Italy (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +18.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, the Netherlands (-6.4%) and Belarus (-7.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia, France and Germany increased by +3.3, +2.6 and +2.2 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest forage harvesters and other harvesting machines supplier in Europe, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 9.9% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an 8.2% share.

By contrast, Austria (-1.9%) and Ukraine (-2.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia and Slovakia increased by +11 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Russia ($X), France ($X) and the UK ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 41% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Portugal, which together accounted for a further 40%.
Among the main importing countries, Slovakia, with a CAGR of +16.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -7.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 235%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while Russia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
