In value terms, exports of fork-lift trucks and other industrial works trucks and tractors soared to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.3% against 2014 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, Germany (X units), distantly followed by Italy (X units), France (X units), the UK (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Belgium (X units) and Sweden (X units) were the major exporters of fork-lift trucks and other industrial works trucks and tractors, together making up 84% of total exports. Ireland (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Ireland (with a CAGR of +16.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the largest forklift truck and industrial works truck supplier in Europe, comprising 30% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with an 11% share.
In Germany, exports of fork-lift trucks and other industrial works trucks and tractors increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+8.1% per year) and France (+3.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, rising by 213% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+4.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe
In 2022, purchases abroad of fork-lift trucks and other industrial works trucks and tractors decreased by -57.3% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 361% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, imports of fork-lift trucks and other industrial works trucks and tractors expanded remarkably to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 22%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Spain (X units), Belgium (X units), Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units), Italy (X units), the UK (X units) and France (X units) represented roughly 65% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Hungary (X units), comprising a 4.8% share of total imports. The following importers - Poland (X units), Romania (X units), Russia (X units), the Czech Republic (X units) and Finland (X units) - together made up 14% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Hungary (with a CAGR of +27.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 33% of total imports. The UK, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Russia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, surging by 167% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight decrease. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while Hungary ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+9.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
