Total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +91.9% against 2018 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, fuel or lubricating pump exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

In 2021, Germany (X units), distantly followed by the Czech Republic (X units), Italy (X units), France (X units), Romania (X units) and Spain (X units) represented the key exporters of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines, together mixing up 86% of total exports. Hungary (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +37.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per unit), while Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the third year in a row, Europe recorded growth in purchases abroad of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines, which increased by 25% to X units in 2021. Total imports indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +71.1% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 26%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Germany was the largest importer of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines in Europe, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 29% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units), France (X units), Hungary (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Italy (X units), Belgium (X units) and Austria (X units), together committing a 48% share of total imports. The following importers - Spain (X units), Sweden (X units), Slovakia (X units), Romania (X units) and the UK (X units) - together made up 16% of total imports.

Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of imports of fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines. At the same time, Sweden (+17.9%), Romania (+15.4%), Italy (+13.6%), Poland (+10.7%), Belgium (+10.1%), Hungary (+5.6%), France (+3.7%), Slovakia (+3.7%) and the Czech Republic (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sweden emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Europe, with a CAGR of +17.9% from 2012-2021. Austria experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported fuel, lubricating or cooling-medium pumps for internal combustion engines in Europe, comprising 23% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by France ($X), with a 9.2% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with an 8% share.

In Germany, fuel or lubricating pump imports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: France (-2.3% per year) and the UK (-1.7% per year).

Import Prices by Country
