In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in shipments abroad of furnace burners for liquid fuel, when their volume increased by 8.2% to X tons. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 9.9%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Italy (X tons) represented the major exporter of furnace burners for liquid fuel, achieving 56% of total exports. Germany (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 27% share of total exports. The following exporters - Sweden (X tons), the UK (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Finland (X tons) - together made up 9.1% of total exports.
Exports from Italy decreased at an average annual rate of -1.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Netherlands (+10.0%) and Spain (+9.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +10.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Finland (-2.8%), Sweden (-4.1%), Germany (-6.0%) and the UK (-9.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the Netherlands (+5.9 p.p.) and Italy (+5.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of the UK (-2 p.p.) and Germany (-7.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest liquid fuel furnace burner supplying countries in Europe were Italy ($X), Germany ($X) and Sweden ($X), together comprising 80% of total exports.
Italy, with a CAGR of -0.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 8.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
In 2021, overseas purchases of furnace burners for liquid fuel were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, liquid fuel furnace burner imports reached $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of liquid fuel furnace burner imports in 2021 were the Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Spain (X tons), together amounting to 45% of total import. It was distantly followed by Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Germany (X tons) and France (X tons), together mixing up a 28% share of total imports. The following importers - Russia (X tons), Poland (X tons), Switzerland (X tons), Ireland (X tons), Denmark (X tons) and Greece (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +15.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the UK ($X), Poland ($X) and France ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 33% share of total imports.
Poland, with a CAGR of +25.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -8.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the import price increased by 8.5% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
