Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, solid fuel furnace burner exports reduced to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.

Exports by Country

Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented roughly 67% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Romania (X tons), mixing up a 7% share of total exports. The following exporters - the Netherlands (X tons), Poland (X tons), Belgium (X tons), France (X tons), Spain (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Austria (X tons) - together made up 15% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the key exporting countries, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 77% share of total exports. Belgium, the UK, Austria, Romania, France, Spain and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

Among the main exporting countries, Romania, with a CAGR of +8.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -12.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 23%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+7.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe

In 2021, the amount of furnace burners for solid fuel or gas imported in Europe surged to X tons, with an increase of 34% compared with 2020 figures. Total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, solid fuel furnace burner imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 16%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The Netherlands dominates imports structure, resulting at X tons, which was approx. 54% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Russia (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons), together mixing up a 22% share of total imports. Germany (X tons), the UK (X tons), Poland (X tons), France (X tons) and Spain (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

The Netherlands was also the fastest-growing in terms of the furnace burners for solid fuel or gas imports, with a CAGR of +28.3% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Belgium (+13.8%), the UK (+8.0%), Slovakia (+8.0%) and Germany (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Poland experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Italy (-1.1%), Russia (-2.6%), France (-6.0%) and Spain (-6.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (+43 p.p.) and Belgium (+2.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Germany, Poland, Spain, France, Italy and Russia saw its share reduced by -2.2%, -2.4%, -4.3%, -4.8%, -5.6% and -10.2% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Russia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported furnace burners for solid fuel or gas in Europe, comprising 22% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 9.8% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with an 8.2% share.

In Russia, solid fuel furnace burner imports decreased by an average annual rate of -2.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (-0.2% per year) and France (-0.5% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -14.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 4.5%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
