France (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with an 11% share, followed by Austria (8.1%) and the Netherlands (6.5%). The following importers - Switzerland (X tons) and the UK (X tons) - each recorded a 4.1% share of total imports.

These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Austria, the UK and Switzerland, which together accounted for a further 23%.
Among the main importing countries, Austria, with a CAGR of +6.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -5.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 28%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+2.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
