In value terms, animal guts exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
The biggest shipments were from Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and Spain (X tons), together recording 51% of total export. It was distantly followed by Poland (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Denmark (X tons), together achieving a 19% share of total exports. The following exporters - Russia (X tons), France (X tons), Romania (X tons), Italy (X tons), Portugal (X tons), Ireland (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) - together made up 20% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Russia (with a CAGR of +39.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 55% share of total exports. Poland, Denmark, France, Portugal, the UK, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Ireland and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 36%.
Russia, with a CAGR of +30.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 4.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Romania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+7.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Europe
After two years of decline, purchases abroad of guts, bladders and stomachs of animals increased by 6% to X tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 7.6%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, animal guts imports rose modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
The purchases of the seven major importers of guts, bladders and stomachs of animals, namely Germany, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Poland, Italy and Portugal, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The Czech Republic (X tons), Romania (X tons), Ukraine (X tons), Lithuania (X tons) and Russia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and France ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 52% share of total imports. Poland, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Romania, the Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine and Lithuania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
Lithuania, with a CAGR of +10.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Europe stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -2.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 13%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
