Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports expanded remarkably to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
In 2021, Belarus (X units) was the largest exporter of industrial machinery for the preparation of fruits, nuts or vegetables, making up 36% of total exports. Spain (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 14% share, followed by Italy (12%), the Netherlands (7.9%), Switzerland (7.6%), Sweden (5.7%) and Russia (4.9%).
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to fruit-preparation industrial machinery exports from Belarus stood at -4.5%. At the same time, Sweden (+24.9%), Spain (+21.8%), Russia (+19.6%), Switzerland (+5.1%) and the Netherlands (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Sweden emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Europe, with a CAGR of +24.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Italy (-2.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Spain (+12 p.p.), Sweden (+4.9 p.p.), Russia (+3.9 p.p.) and Switzerland (+2.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Italy and Belarus saw its share reduced by -2.9% and -19.5% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest fruit-preparation industrial machinery supplying countries in Europe were the Netherlands ($X), Italy ($X) and Spain ($X), with a combined 64% share of total exports. Sweden, Belarus, Switzerland and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 7.2%.
Among the main exporting countries, Sweden, with a CAGR of +12.0%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -3.4% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 16%. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per unit), while Belarus ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+6.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Europe
Fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports fell to X units in 2021, dropping by -4.9% on the year before. Total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +8.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +54.3% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2020, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports rose markedly to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
The countries with the highest levels of fruit-preparation industrial machinery imports in 2021 were Denmark (X units), Switzerland (X units) and Russia (X units), together resulting at 50% of total import. France (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.1% share, followed by Italy (7.8%). In value terms, the largest fruit-preparation industrial machinery importing markets in Europe were Russia ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 27% share of total imports. Spain, the UK, Denmark, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Portugal and Bosnia and Herzegovina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
Ukraine, with a CAGR of +11.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Europe amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the import price increased by 27%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per unit), while Bosnia and Herzegovina ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
